GUIDELINES FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

Abstracts centre shall be open on 15th September, 2023 and shall close on 31st January, 2024. All submissions will be made electronically only through the NESICON website. All abstracts must be submitted in the prescribed format mentioned on the website.

Abstracts can be submitted for platform presentation or E-posters. The presenter may submit for award papers (if eligible) or free papers and should specify the subcategory:

Please note that each presenter can present only one abstract for platform presentation. Subsequent abstracts will be considered as poster presentation.



General Instructions
  • 'Abstracts for award papers will be accepted from full or associate members of the Neuro Endoscopy Society of India.' Submission of an abstract constitutes the author's commitment to present the abstract if accepted and, in the session, assigned by the Scientific committee.
  • All presenters must register for the conference.
  • All expenses associated with the preparation and presentation of the abstracts is the responsibility of the author/presenter.
  • Abstracts of the accepted papers may be printed in the abstract book, as received.



Submission Procedure
  • The first step to follow before submitting an abstract online is to login, by creating your own username and password required by the system.
  • All abstracts must be submitted in English through the online abstract submission platform. Abstracts sent in other languages and/or by fax, e-mail or hard copy (paper copy) will not be accepted for evaluation.
  • Abstracts will be considered either for: oral, poster, video.
  • During your abstract’s online submission, you will be requested to choose the topic of your preference. Please note that the Scientific Committee reserves the right to request the change of your abstract’s topic and/or preferred type of presentation, according to the Scientific Program’s specifications and needs.
  • Your abstract should include: a) the abstract title in sentence case, b) the authors’ full names (first name, followed by family name), listed in their proper order and with the respective indices, corresponding to their affiliations, c) authors’ affiliations (clinic/department, hospital/university, city, country) with the respective indices corresponding the authors, d) full abstract text, properly structured (Objective, Material and Methods, Results, Conclusion) e) source of funding (if any) f) references (if any) g) presenting author. The text must be a maximum of 300 words. The title of the abstract, authors' names, institutions and key words are not included in this limit. Please note that there will be no editing of the abstracts prior to the evaluation procedure and authors are required to avoid typing errors, misordering of names, incorrect spelling etc.
  • You can Save as Draft your abstract and return to finalize its submission at a later stage. However, please bear in mind that only when you click on the Submit button, your abstract has been successfully submitted. Submitted abstracts cannot be edited online.   • Acknowledgement of receipt of your submission will be sent to your stated email address. If you do not receive the confirmation email , please contact us at nesicon2024@gmail.com
  • Your abstract should be submitted before January 31st, 2024.
  • All received abstracts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee.
  • It is the author's responsibility to submit a fully finalized abstract. Any errors in spelling, grammar or scientific facts will be reproduced as typed by the author.
  • Relevant information about your abstract's presentation including the presentation date, time, presentation number will be also sent to presenters’ email addresses.


Guidelines for Award paper platform presentation
  • Presenter should be a neurosurgeon below the age of 45 years.
  • Work presented should have been done in India.
  • The presenter should present the paper/poster in the conference personally
  • The paper should not have been published or presented earlier in any other conference.
  • The Head of the Dept./institution to which a candidate is attached should certify that the work presented is the presenter's personal contribution or that the presenter contributed significantly to the work.
  • The Chairman, Scientific Committee with the help of appropriate reviewers will select the award papers for presentation in the meeting. The Scientific Committee will have the final say in the acceptance. Notification of acceptance and category of presentation will be emailed to the first author.


Deadline
  • The last date for submission of all abstracts is 31st January, 2024.
  • Full Text for abstracts submitted under Award Paper category must be send to nesicon2024@gmail.com before January 31st 2024.


Guideline for “Best E- Posters Award”
  • Presenter should be a neurosurgeon below the age of 45 years.
  • Work presented should have been done in India.
    Award posters will be in Power point format.
  • The presentations should have a maximum of 5 slides. This includes slides for introduction/background, materials & methods, results, discussion, and take home/conclusion slide.
  • The scientific committee will have the final say in the acceptance of the posters for this award session


Guideline for Video presentation – For Young Neurosurgeons
  • Age must be less then 45 years
  • Video format
  • Time duration: (Pre-recorded video of 4 min strictly)
  • It must be prepared pre-recorded video with voice over or proper caption or can be presented by participant.
  • It must be surgical procedure video (with preoperative and postoperative images to be incorporated in video)
  • Abstract: 5 line description of the video presentation content (Unique anatomy, innovation in procedure, challenging operative technique, complication & management in endoscopy surgery is preferable)
  • Last date of abstract for video submission – 31st January, 2024
  • Presenter has to submitted the video after abstract acceptance. The format of video presentation will be sent to presenter individually by our scientific committee after abstract acceptance.
  • Final acceptance is based on scientific committee evaluation
  • Person has to be available while video presentation – for discussion
